Create a new parent company profile

A parent company is defined as a large organization that manages and controls smaller subsidiaries. Properties may want to report on the volume of business associated with a parent company and its subsidiaries. Parent companies are not directly linked to a reservation. They are indirectly connected via their linked company relation profiles.

To create a new parent company profile

  1. From the home page, click Relation in the top bar, select Company, and then Parent company. The seek page displays.

  2. Click the Create new () icon. The add parent company profile page displays.
  3. Modify the fields as appropriate. An asterisk (*) indicates a mandatory field.

    Parent profile details

    * Name

    Enter the name of the parent company.

    Mail address

    Enter the mailing address of the parent company.

    Zip/City

    Enter the parent company's postal code in the first field and city in the second field.

    State

    Optionally, enter the state of the parent company.

    Country

    Select the country from the drop-down list.

    Visit address

    Enter the visit address of the parent company.

    Zip/City

    Enter the parent company's postal code in the first field and city in the second field.

    State

    Optionally, enter the state of the parent company.

    Country

    Select the country from the drop-down list.

    Phone

    Enter the phone number of the parent company.

    Fax

    Optionally, enter the fax number of the parent company.

    Website

    Optionally, enter the website of the parent company.

    Email address

    Enter the email of the parent company.

    Protect

    Select this field if the parent company profile may not be changed by an unauthorized user. Only a system administrator (super user) is permitted to unselect the check box at a later date.

    Market

    Optionally, link a parent company to a specific market type.

    Discount

    Optionally, select a specific discount that applies to the parent company.

    The discount module is set up via this path: Settings > Options > Modules > Discounts. After you have enabled the discount module, you set up the discount via this path: Settings > Rate manager > Discount

    Source

    Add the source code.

    Source codes are used to help a property define and manage their market segmentation.
    These are set up in Settings > Statistics > Source code
    When selected, all reservations booked by the company receive this default source code on the reservation screen, unless a different default source is linked as the default source on the rate type. The rate type default source overwrites the source linked in the company relation. We do not recommend assigning a source to a relation, unless the source of business is always the same for that relation profile each time a booking is made.

    Memo

    Optionally, enter extra information about the parent company. The information entered does not display on reservations linked to the parent company.

  4. Do one of the following: 

    • Click Save () to save your parent company profile.

    • Click Cancel () to discard your changes.
