Message types
While working in MeetingBroker, you might receive a variety of messages relating to the requests for proposals (RFPs) you are sending or receiving. The details that display depend on the type of message the system is sending you notification of. Understanding what each message type means is key to efficient communication and RFP tracking.
In this guide, we walk you through the message types and when you might expect to see them during the life cycle of an RFP.

This message indicates the creation of a new RFP for your location in MeetingBroker. Use this notification as a prompt to review the business opportunity and consider submitting a proposal for it.

An Updated RFP message informs recipients that changes have been made to the original RFP.

This message indicates that responsibility for an RFP is transferred to a different individual or team. You receive this notification if you are the person or part of the team that has been assigned the piece of business.

An Awarded RFP message notifies you that a proposal you submitted to bid on the business has been accepted by the sending client. This message type does have a dependency on the type of communication the channel has with MeetingBroker. For example, messages of this type might not be generated for one-way channels sending RFPs only, as they have no mechanism for the sender to make updates.

For certain MeetingBroker channels, the sender might not be able to indicate that they have accepted your bid. When an RFP is manually updated to reflect that your location has won the business, a Self-Awarded Proposal message is triggered to notify responsible parties that the proposal has been accepted.

A Withdrawn RFP message notifies you that the sender of the lead is no longer considering your location for their business needs. An RFP can only be withdrawn if your location submits a proposal.

This message is generated when the individual reviewing the RFP indicates that your property cannot accommodate the client’s request. The notification is delivered based on the status of the RFP being set to Turned Down.

This message indicates that the RFP has been cancelled after the proposal you submitted to bid on the business was accepted by the sending client. This message type has a dependency on the type of communication the channel has with MeetingBroker. For example, messages of this type might not be generated for one-way channels sending RFPs only, as they have no mechanism for the sender to make updates.
