Create equipment types
Each piece of equipment must have an equipment type. Check first to make sure the appropriate equipment type exists before adding a new piece of equipment. If there is no suitable equipment type you can create one.
To create an equipment type

- Enter the Name. This is the category of equipment, for example; Air Handlers, Refrigerators, Roof Top Units, Stoves or Ovens, and so forth. Remember, the product comes with dozens of standard equipment types defined, so you only have to create an equipment type for a unique equipment category.
- Click
Issues tab (Optional)
- Select any issues (typically PM issues) to be associated with the equipment type.
- Click the to the right of the issue to move it to the Selected column.
- Click
UDF (Optional)
- Click to add a UDF. This new field will be available for any equipment that uses this equipment type. If you want to track the manufacturer and model number create two UDFs.
- Enter the UDF Name and click .
- Repeat steps 3 and 4 until all UDFs are added.
- Click to save.
