Equipment types

Equipment types define equipment categories. HotSOS comes with a default set of equipment types, but if needed, you can add more to tailor to your needs. When creating an equipment type, you can add custom fields, called user-defined fields (UDFs). UDFs allow you to enter equipment-specific information such as manufacturer, model, serial number, belts, fluids, filter size, and so forth. This information is available in the order for the team member responding. No more having to chase down important details.

You also have the option to add issues, most often PM (preventive maintenance) issues, to equipment types. When creating schedules using the PM issue(s) defined in the equipment type, equipment associated with the same equipment type will be at the top of the selection list. Streamline the process!

The equipment types and UDFs are available when adding new equipment to the system.

Click Create button to create equipment types.

You can use tools like the Column Chooser and Filter Builder to navigate the console lists and find just what you need. Use these individually or in combination. And don't forget that you can sort the column headers too.
