Modify file upload and download security to download PDFs
The following steps provide instructions on how to modify File Upload and Download Security so that PDFs are downloaded rather than opened within the same browser window. This feature requires R4 (version 1.49) or later. To determine the release installed in your org, see Installed Packages.

To modify File Upload and Download Security
- Go to Setup and start typing "File Upload and Download Security" in the Quick Find search box, without hitting Enter.
- When you see it as an option on the left-hand side, select it.
- Select Edit.
- Next to PDF, in the Download Behavior picklist, select Download.
- Click Save.
