Enable date collections

The following steps provide instructions on how to enable date collections. This feature requires R18 or later. To determine the release installed in your org, see Installed Packages.

To enable date collections

  1. Go to Setup > Create > Objects > Setup Value.
  2. Navigate to Custom Fields & Relationships and click Setup Value Type.
  3. Navigate to Picklist Values and click New.
  4. Enter DateCollectionCategory in the box.
  5. Select Corporate Setup Value and Property Setup Value.

  6. Click Save.
  7. In the Picklist Values section, click Reorder.

  8. Select the Sort Values Alphabetically checkbox, and then click Save.

  1. Go to Setup > Create > Objects > Property.
  2. Navigate to Page Layouts and click Edit next to Property Layout.
  3. In the Property Layout toolbar, click Related Lists.
  4. Drag the Date Collections related list onto the page layout under Setup Values.
  5. Above the Date Collections related list, click Related List Properties to open the Related List Properties – Date Collections window.
  6. Add the following Available Fields to the Selected Fields list in this order: Subject, Description, Date Collection Category, Start Date, and End Date.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Click Save at the top of the Property Layout page.
  9. Repeat this entire procedure for the Event Only Property Layout (if applicable).
  1. Go to Setup > Create > Objects > Date Collection.
  2. Navigate to Record Types and click Page Layout Assignment.
  3. Click Edit Assignment.
  4. In the Page Layout to Use picklist, select Date Collection Property Layout.
  5. In the Property Date Collection column, hold the CTRL key and click the rows for the following profiles: Event Only Corporate Administrator, Event Only Property Administrator, Event Only User, Event Only View Only User, Sales and Catering Corporate Administrator, Sales and Catering Property Administrator, Sales and Catering User, Sales and Catering View Only User, System Administrator.

    The record type page assignment should change to "Date Collection Property Layout."

  6. Click Save.
