Add alternate language fields to page layouts
The following steps provide instructions on how to add alternate language fields to page layouts for each supported language at your property. This feature requires R19 or later. To determine the release installed in your org, see Installed Packages.
For assistance with any feature configuration, contact your Amadeus sales representative to learn more about our Professional Services offerings.
Here are the page layouts that support multiple languages and the alternate language fields that can be added to each one. In some cases, multiple page layouts need to be configured for an object (see bullets).

To add alternate language fields to page layouts
- Go to Setup > Create > Objects > object name.
- Go to Page Layouts and click Edit next to the layout name.
- In the Layout toolbar, click Section and drag it onto the page layout.
The Section Properties window opens.
- Enter the Section Name (for example, “Alternate Language Fields – French”) and click OK.
- In the Layout toolbar, drag the appropriate alternate language fields into the new section. For example, if you just created a section for French on your Event Classification layout, you’ll want to add the following fields to that section: Name (French), Abbreviation (French), and Description (French).
Refer to the table above for a list of alternate language fields that can be added to each page layout.
When arranging the fields in each section, be sure not to include any blank spaces. If a section contains a blank space, all users will be able to see it regardless of whether or not they have the corresponding alternate language permission set.
- Repeat steps 3 – 5 to create a new section for each language that is supported in your org.
- Click Save at the top of the Layout page.
- Repeat this entire procedure for each of the page layouts listed in the table above.
