Update merge templates for alternate languages

R19 and higher versions allow you to create BEOs, banquet checks, and Advanced Booking documents in one or two languages. This functionality is available whether you are merging a single document or batch merging multiple documents.

In order for users to make use of this feature, you as administrators must make modifications to the merge templates. Whether you are planning to generate a document in a single language, like French, or a bilingual one, such as English and French, you will need to add the alternate merge fields into your merge templates. These fields are available within the Amadeus Merge Add-In Tool, starting from version 3.6.9.4 or later. The beauty of these fields is that they are dynamic, meaning you only have to insert them into each template once, and they will automatically adapt for each selected language during the merge process. You may also consider creating a distinct template for each language combination and then translating the text and field labels into the appropriate languages. For more details on how to achieve this, refer to the Create merge templates for alternate languages guide.

Currently, not all alternate language fields can be added to Advanced Booking merge documents. Don’t worry. We’ are already making sure more of these fields will be available in upcoming releases.
