Add the Public Description field to the Function Room

Some online booking channels allow your property to expose important information about your function space. For example, the setup styles that work best in the space and the maximum capacities for each layout.

Describing the room features, the views it offers, or the built-in equipment available in the space allows your clients to easily visualize what your property's function rooms have to offer. The Public Description field on the Function Room allows you to enter and maintain this information in Delphi while making it available to our channel partners to display online.

This feature requires an Online Booking Channel and R50 or later. To determine the release installed in your org, see Installed Packages.

To add the Public Description field to the Function Room page layouts

  1. Go to Setup > Build > Create > Objects > Function Room.
  2. Go to Page Layouts and click Edit next to the Function Room Layout page layout name.
  3. In the Layout toolbar, click Fields.
  4. Drag the Public Description field to the Information section of the page layout.

Public Description fields are available in each of our supported Alternate Languages. To add these fields to the page layout, simply follow the same click-and-drag step to add them to the Alternate Language section of the page.

  1. Click Save at the top of the Layout page - this will return you to the Function Room page.
  2. Repeat the steps above to add the fields to the Combination Function Room, Indivisible Function Room and Standalone Function Room page layouts.
