Overview: Contact roles
The content of this page is specific to the Delphi product type only. If you are using the Delphi Core product type and want to learn more about the Delphi product type, contact your sales representative.
Contact roles are only available in the Salesforce Classic experience.
When a person is not directly associated with an account but has an interest in its bookings, add that person as a contact role. The following explains the difference between a contact and a contact role.
- A contact is someone directly associated with an account.
- A contact role, however, is someone indirectly associated with an account. A contact role cannot be assigned as the primary contact on an account but has an interest in the account's bookings and events. The record also displays that person's role for the account.
Salesforce provides several contact roles for you to choose from, including Business User, Decision Maker, Evaluator, and Influencer. For additional information on these roles, refer to Salesforce Help.
