Delete tax rates

The information in this topic applies to non-enhanced taxes. To learn about enhanced taxes, refer to Overview: Enhanced taxes.

An administrator can delete a tax rate, but, if another rate is not specified for that time period, no tax is applied to the menus and items on the banquet check. This ensures that an expired tax is not used in tax calculations. For example, if the rate for a sales tax expires in December and the banquet check is printed the next month, the sales tax charges do not display.

To delete a tax rate

  1. In the Taxes section of the Property page, click the tax with the rate you want to delete.
  2. Do one of the following:

    • In the Tax Rates section, click Delete next to the rate.
    • On the Tax Rate page, click Delete.
  3. Confirm the deletion.
