Categories

Create categories for each data module to help keep data organized and to make it easier for site users to navigate the website. Navigate to Bento Menu > Data > Master Brand > Categories. Categories must be created for every language version.

The best way to look for an existing record is to use the global search field at the top of any page. You can either search for a whole word, or you can use an asterisk (*) as a wildcard to expand your search. To do so, type two or more characters followed by an * and click Search or press Enter. All records with words starting with the chosen characters display in the results.

For example, a search for 'car*' might return the New Carrington Industries account, the Carter Reunion booking, and the Carrot Ginger Soup item.

Categories are supported for the following modules:

Add a new category

  1. From the Categories main window, choose a data module from the top of the window, then click Add.

  2. Depending on the module, fields become available which are required and optional fields to complete, such as:

    • Name - Name of the category

    • Short Description

    • Long Description

  3. Click Save.

  4. Repeat the process as needed to add new categories. Ensure that you have created categories for every language version of your brand. 

Edit an existing category

  1. From the Categories main window, choose a data module from the tab bar.

  2. Click an existing category from the list.

  3. Update any fields as needed.

  4. Click Save to apply any changes.

Delete an existing category

  1. From the Categories main window

  2. choose a data module from the tab bar.

  3. Click an existing category from the list

  4. Click the Ellipsis on the right-hand side of the window. A warning displays asking you to confirm the deletion.

  5. Select Yes, to delete.

Apply a category to a data item within a module

  1. From Interface Menu > Data, select a module.

  2. Within the module, select an existing item and click Categories to assign any applicable categories for the data item.

  3. If creating a new data item, first save the item, then the Categories tab displays.
