Add the Enable Room Block Status checkbox to the Property page

The content of this page is specific to the Delphi Core product type only.

This feature is available with version R56 or higher. To determine the release installed in your org, see Installed Packages.

When you create a room block, its status defaults to the booking status until you change it. You can change a room block's status using the Status field in the New Room Block window or the Modify Room Block window. Then, the room block maintains its own status independent of the booking. However, if the booking is changed to cancelled, turned down, or lost, the status of all its room blocks automatically update to the corresponding status. Also, you cannot downgrade the status of a room block. For example, you cannot change the status from definite to tentative.

When properties with an external availability integration change the room block status to tentative or definite, a warning message might display. This can happen when the room block numbers exceed the available inventory.

Your property configuration controls whether users can manually change the room block status. If your administrator has selected the Enable Room Block Status option on the Property page, you can update the room block status as needed. If this option is not selected, the Status field is view-only and the room block status always reflects the current status of the booking.

The Enable Room Block Status option needs to be selected for properties integrated with the Opera property management system.

Core only orgs created before R56 might need to add the Enable Room Block Status checkbox onto the Property page. Multi-modules orgs might only need to update the Field Visibility settings of the checkbox. See below for more details.

To add the Enable Room Block Status checkbox to the Property page

As of R56, this checkbox is automatically added to the Salesforce Lightning default Property record page. If you have previously customized the Lightning Property record page, follow the steps below to add the checkbox to the custom page layout.

  1. Click Setup (Icon of a settings cog) and then select Setup.

  2. In Quick Find, enter 'App Builder.'

  3. Under User Interface, click Lightning App Builder.

  4. Find the most recent LightningPropertyRecordPage layout and click Edit. The Property Record page displays.

If the option to edit is not available, this indicates that the Lightning Property page layout has not been customized. The Enable Room Block Status checkbox is already available on the page layout.

  5. On the left side of the page, select Fields and type 'Enable' into the search bar.

  6. From the options below, select Enable Room Block Status and drag it to the Guestroom Configuration section of the layout.

  7. Click Save.
  8. To activate, click Activation... or Activate at the top right.
    1. On the Activation page, select the App Default tab.

    2. Click Assign to Apps or Assign as App Default.

    3. Select Amadeus Delphi, Amadeus Delphi – Events Only, and Amadeus Support.

    4. Click Next to accept any other messages and prompts.

    5. Click Save.

    6. To go back to Delphi, click the browser’s back button.

If the new Lightning record page is not visible, clear the browser cache.

To change the visibility of the Enable Room Block Status checkbox on the Property page

Multi-module orgs already have the Enable Room Block Status checkbox on the Property page. However, Field Visibility settings hid the checkbox from Delphi Core properties. As of R56, this checkbox is visible to all properties on the Salesforce Lightning default Property record page. Multi-module orgs that have previously customized the Lightning Property record page, need to follow the steps below to make the checkbox visible, for Core properties, on the custom page layout.

  5. In the Guestroom Configuration section, click Field Visibility (Icon of an orange square with a white eye) next to Enable Room Block Status.

  6. On the right side of the page, click the X next to each Field Visibility Filter pertaining to Core.

  7. Click Save.
  8.  To go back to Delphi, click the browser’s back button.

If the new Lightning record page is not visible, clear the browser cache.
