Delphi Diagramming release notes

New features and fixed issues in the 2021 releases of Delphi Diagramming.

November 30, 2021 (R11)

Activate locked user accounts. We know that time is of the essence when it comes to staff turnover. As an administrator with user permissions, you can now deactivate or reactivate a user without having to call support! If your team are returning after the pandemic, maternity leave, or Susan just keeps entering the wrong password and locking her account, no problem! Simply click the padlock on the Manage Users page to reactivate them.

User status. Once upon a time, sustaining user accounts for your team was as clear as mud. It's now plain to see who can or cannot access the system with the new Status column in the Manage Users page. You can then take the appropriate action without having to guess what should be the next step. You'll see statuses of Active, Inactive, or Not Registered which means they haven't yet completed their setup.

End of support for Flash files. Save vintage for fashion and antique for furniture! MP4s are all the rage nowadays, so it's time to clean out those musty old files. Since Adobe Flash player support has ended, .swf and .flv videos will no longer play. If you try to preview an old flash file in the Media Editor, you’ll be reminded to replace it with a modern format. New videos should be supported by HTML: MP4, OGG, or WebM.

Videos no longer play in Internet Explorer. Technology is always changing and we're getting ready to say farewell to Microsoft Internet Explorer. Customers visiting your website will only be able to play videos if they are using one of the modern supported browsers. In parallel, you'll have to do the same to preview videos in the Media Editor. A message will explain why they won't play and suggest using a different browser.

New 3D resources. Diagrams really come to life as more 3D models are added for resources. Bring your customers one step closer to reality with fresh, new, and enhanced representations of windows, rotating doors, trusses, dance floors, ramps, risers, face masks, and hand sanitizer bottles. There's even 3D holiday trees, just in time for the celebrations.

Combination function spaces. Flexible function space is a unique selling point but it can be a tedious task to create it all. Well, we've just changed that. If you're adding a room in the Meeting Space Editor that can be divided by partitions, first create the combination room. For example, if the Ballroom is made up of Salon A and Salon B, first create the Ballroom. Then, use the new Room Cut Tool to slice it into the two salons, just like you would cut a pie. We'll automatically show you all possible combinations—click on each one in the list to see the space highlight on the canvas. Click Edit to name the sections and save. Then, instead of having to draw another space for the salons, just select the section and click Create. Back in the Meeting Space Editor, expand the arrow next to the name of the combination room to see the components.

Search for Resources in Design Mode. Have you ever been confused about where to find a flip chart? Is it under Audio/Visual, Decor, or Classroom? Well, you don't have to remember that anymore! Now you'll just start typing the name of the resource you need in the Search bar, and we'll bring the item to the top of the list for you. Detailing diagrams just got a whole lot simpler.

Frequently Used section for Resources. Right under the new Search bar in Design Mode, you'll see a Frequently Used section. We'll remember the ten resources that you use most often and keep them handy for you at the top of the list.

Reassign Booking Owner. Manage your team in a flexible and fast way by reassigning workload. You can now transfer ownership of a Booking to another user, which also changes the owner of all the associated diagrams. You can even reassign multiple bookings at the same time with the new Reassign Owner button on the Bookings page, making staff turnover less of a burden.

Alignment enhancements. More control for accurate alignment. It takes precious time to fix crooked, off center, misaligned, and lopsided diagrams. You can now use the walls of the room, Multi-line and Polygon tools to set a range for positioning resources or text. No need to eye-ball putting the coffee station into the corner of the room. Press and hold your Ctrl and Shift keys, then simply click the walls to activate the reference points and line up a single table right against the wall with a couple of clicks. Your 3D render will thank you.

Metric and Imperial views in the Capacity Editor. You can now switch between displaying square feet or square meters in the Capacity Editor using a new picklist at the top of the page. When you're working with an international customer, you can quickly provide dimensions and even print your capacity chart in their preferred format.

Hide meeting space. If you have outdated function rooms cluttering up your list, remove them by selecting the new Hidden option in the Capacity Editor. Hidden rooms no longer display to customers on your website or in picklists when you are creating new diagrams. If used in an existing diagram, you will be prompted to change the room the next time you edit.

Search and filter in Meeting Space Editor. Managing your meeting space has never been easier with the new options for searching by name and filtering by public status and owner.

Share multiple room plans from the Bookings page. When you have a group with bookings at more than one property or you want to send the AV company all the diagrams for next week, use the new Share button on the Bookings page. You can e-mail up to 10 diagrams and choose whether or not to include pictures, document links, or 3D sharing. Maximum total size of all files is 10 MB.

Print the Room Plan Name. The Room Plan Name can now be included when printing, exporting, and batch printing diagrams. As with the other header/footer information, you can choose to hide or include it by default in the Print and PDF Options section of your profile.

Additional 3D viewing options. Take 3D viewing to new heights (literally) with enhanced navigation. You've always been able to move around the space as if you were walking. Now you can also "turn your head" up, down, and side-to-side to tweak the angle, and even adjust your elevation for a bird's eye view from above.

Drawing improvements. When using the Line, Arrow, Polygon, Multi-line, Air Wall, Extra Wall, and Dimension Line tools, you can snap to walls and other drawn objects. Keep your lines straight and limit rotations to 45 degree angles by holding the SHIFT key as you draw.

Multi-edit object properties. When working on a room plan in Design Mode, you can now select multiple objects of the same type and edit their properties even if they have different values.

Bing maps for regions with Google restrictions. When viewing the Area Map in Website Edition, if Google maps are restricted, you will automatically be redirected to Bing maps.

CR0134469: Resource settings can be edited in a room plan when the theater seating style has not been enabled in Layout Editor.
