Delphi Diagramming R1 release notes
Delphi Diagramming combines online software and services so properties can meet the demands of today’s event planners. With Delphi Diagramming, meeting spaces are presented in engaging and interactive ways, showcasing properties in the best light. This provides event planners with the information they need to make informed decisions and develop a short list of candidates for their events. Convenient navigation capabilities and a Start page make it easy for event planners to obtain information quickly. With integration to Google Maps and Google controls as well as attractions and points of interest views, event planners can see a property in relation to nearby attractions. And because Delphi Diagramming’s app now supports HTML5, users can take advantage of its features from any device, including tablets.
New features and enhancements
User experience
Several enhancements have been made to improve the Delphi Diagramming user experience for all visitors, especially casual meeting planners. These updates include:
- Streamlined, intuitive navigation throughout all the Delphi Diagramming modules.
- HTML5 support allows users to access Delphi Diagramming from any device, including tablets.
- Improved sharing and collaboration capabilities through email and social media tools, such as Facebook and Twitter.
- Quick access to the Media Gallery, Room Search, Submit RFP page, Home page, and Preferences (language and unit of measurement) from any view of Delphi Diagramming.
- All areas of Delphi Diagramming now support the use of the following languages for static text: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese.
Start page
The redesigned Start page provides users with single-click access to the Delphi Diagramming apps. Meeting planners can quickly browse floor plans and featured photos to get a feel for the layout of the property. The Start page also allows meeting planners to search for suitable meeting rooms by seating style and attendee number. Room searches will return a list of all meeting rooms that meet the search criteria along with their maximum capacity setups.
Area Map
Accessed from the Delphi Diagramming Start page, the Area Map puts a property in geographic context by highlighting it and identifying notable nearby attractions, such as landmarks, restaurants, entertainment venues, parking, mass transit, etc. Users can switch between a map or satellite view of the area.
Hotel Property Explorer
Using interactive stacked floor plans and room diagrams, the Hotel Property Explorer helps event planners explore a property’s offerings. Users can drill down into a building to see its individual floors, meeting rooms, guestrooms, and other highlights (restaurants, pools, spas, etc.). Marketing text and media are displayed through the user’s self-guided tour of the property. The addition of an RFP link allows visitors to submit RFPs to a property directly from the Hotel Property Explorer.
Interactive Event Diagrams
Interactive Event Diagrams has been simplified to make it easier for meeting planners to customize their room diagrams. Available setup options include room arrangement, table type, table size, chair arrangement, and chairs per table. Meeting planners can then print the room diagram or share it via email or social media, such as Facebook and Twitter. The recipient of the room diagram has the option to make changes and send it back to the originator, allowing for collaboration between the two parties.
Room Details
Room Details provides information about a meeting room, including its maximum capacities with diagrams, dimensions, and area, a marketing description and images, and videos and virtual tours (as available).
Visual Capacity Chart
The Visual Capacity Chart indicates how many people each meeting space can accommodate and provides website visitors with a visual representation of the maximum setup in each room. Easily accessed from the Start page, the Visual Capacity Chart allows meeting planners to print the diagram they are viewing or the entire capacity chart.
Meeting Space Viewer
The Meeting Space Viewer displays a diagram of each property’s meeting spaces, including dimensions and total area. Meeting planners select the rooms they’d like to view by scrolling through a list of spaces and clicking within the chart.
Media Gallery
The Media Gallery showcases all images, videos, and virtual tours that have been uploaded for a property, including translated captions in the designated languages. Properties can choose up to five photos to be showcased on the Start page.
Additional information
The following are known issues in this release of the product:
CR0090953: Delphi Diagramming 2014 R1 now takes aisle widths into consideration when setting up tables and chairs in diagrams. This change may result in fewer tables and chairs being allowed for a particular setup (for example, Classroom style); however, it ensures that all fire codes are met for the function room being diagrammed.
CR0082022: Depending on the size and shape of the room, using the Banquet Staggered setup may reduce the capacity of the space.
CR0082729, CR0082770, CR0083258: At lower screen resolutions, text in languages other than English may wrap, affect the spacing of other items, or be truncated.
CR0083101: Staging and AV placement may be affected by other permanent objects in the room, such as pillars and columns.
CR0090885: The Delphi Diagramming email form does not send emails in international formats.
CR0090882: When you print a capacity chart, the setup style icons are not displayed over the capacity columns.
Workaround: Set your browser to print background colors and images.
CR0090883: You cannot play videos (MOV or MP4 files) on an iPad.
CR0090884: The formatting of the room search results may be affected by using your browser’s zoom tools.
CR0090982: When using Chrome to view a floor, function room, or Delphi Diagramming element, you may occasionally receive the following error message: “Error retrieving SVG map”.
Workaround: Open another website in Chrome, clear your browser cache, and then close and re-open Chrome and proceed as usual.
