Delete appointments
With the Salesforce Lightning experience, the Open Activities and Activity History sections of a record are combined into one Activity timeline. With this change, Open Activities is now called Upcoming & Overdue, and Activity History displays by date. The steps below might vary based on the experience you are using.
You can delete your future calendar appointments. This cancels the appointment and removes it from both your Calendar and the associated record. All users who are invited to the appointment are emailed a cancellation notification, and the appointment is removed from their Calendars.
Only delete an appointment if it serves no further purpose. After an appointment is deleted, no record of it remains, and it does not display in reports. If your intention is to mark an appointment as closed, you do not need to do so. Appointments are automatically moved to the Activity History section after they have occurred.
You can only delete one appointment at a time, and it must be assigned to you.
You can delete an appointment either from the associated record or from your Calendar on the Home page.
To delete an appointment from a record
- Open the record associated with the appointment.
- In the Open Activities section, click Delete next to the appointment.
- Confirm the deletion.
To delete an appointment from your Calendar
- Click the Home tab.
- In the Calendar section, find and select the appointment you want to delete.
- Click Delete.
- Confirm the deletion.
You can also delete an appointment that has already occurred. In the Activity History section of the associated record, click Delete next to the appropriate appointment. Because the past appointment contributes to the record's history, verify that it is not needed before deleting it.
