Edit taxes

The information in this topic applies to the tax function with version R20 and lower. To learn about the enhanced taxes feature available with version R21 and higher, refer to Overview: Enhanced taxes.
When you make changes to an individual tax, the tax group automatically updates and the new tax information is used to generate charges.
Use the Tax Edit page to change the name of a tax. If you need to make additional changes to a tax, use the following pages:
- Tax Rate Edit page - Use this page to modify the schedule of tax rates.
- Tax Group Tax Edit page - Use this page to modify details about the tax after the tax is added to a tax group. For example, you can use this page to update whether the tax compounds or to update the revenue classifications the tax applies to.
You need to be an administrator to make any changes to a tax. Users cannot modify taxes when they create a booking event. Changes can only be made on the Property page.
To edit a tax name
- In the Taxes section of the Property page, click Edit next to the tax. The Tax Edit page displays.
- Update the Name of the tax as needed.
The required fields display a red indicator. These fields need to be complete before you can save the record.
- Click Save.
