Block guestrooms using Bulk Update

This feature is called Fast Update in the classic guestroom experience.

You can use the Bulk Update feature to reduce the time needed to enter room block information. With this feature you only need to enter the group's guestroom and rate information one time. You can then automatically copy the values to every night of the group's stay for one or more room types and all occupancy levels.

To block guestrooms using Bulk Update

The steps to bulk update values differ depending on which guestroom experience you are using. Select your experience for further details.

  1. On the Booking Detail page, click Manage Guestrooms to open an existing room block. To create a new room block, see Block guestrooms.
  2. Ensure all applicable room types are added to the room block. Click Add Room Type as needed.

  3. Click any field in the room type you want to update, and click Fast Update. The Update Rooms and Rates window displays.

  4. Select each of the attendance values you want to update for this room type.
  5. The Start and End Date fields automatically display the entire date range of the guestroom pattern. You can adjust these fields to define a shorter date range within the block.
  6. Enter the room count and rate to copy to each day of the specified date range. You can also select specific days of the week, if necessary.

    If Auto Default Rates is selected on the Modify Room Block page, enter the single occupancy rate and the upcharge rate applies to other occupancies.

  7. If you want to use the same rates for the pickup rate, select the Copy Rate to Pickup Rate checkbox.

    If your property is integrated with a property management system (PMS) that automatically enters pickup, the Copy Rate to Pickup Rate checkbox is unavailable.

  8. Click Submit.
  9. Repeat steps 3-8 for each room type you want to update.
  10. Click Save on the Room Block Details page to save your changes.

  3. Click More and then click Bulk Update. The Bulk Update window displays.

  4. Select one or more room types to update.

  5. The Block Start and Block End Date fields automatically display the entire date range of the guestroom pattern. You can adjust these fields to define a shorter date range within the block.

  6. Select the days of the week to update, if needed. All days are selected by default.

  7. Select each of the attendance values you want to update for this room type.

  8. If the pickup rate is the same as the blocked rate, select the Copy Rate to Pickup checkbox.

    If your property is integrated with a property management system (PMS) that automatically enters pickup, the Copy Rate to Pickup checkbox is unavailable.

  9. Enter the room count and rate to copy to each day of the specified date range.

  10. Click Update.

  11. Click Save on the Room Block Details page to save your changes.
