Media Editor
The Media Editor is used only with Website Edition and is where you build your gallery of images, videos, and virtual tours. You can add an unlimited number of files and include captions to describe the visual in all the languages your property supports.
Once you have added content to your media library, you can choose the first image your customers will see when visiting your website, and any other important images that should be featured on the home page. You can also link the files to specific locations on your area map so your customers can really get a sense of your property.
The following file formats can be uploaded:
Photos - .JPG, .GIF, .PNG
Videos - .MP4, .OGG, .WebM
Virtual tours - .JPG or .PNG
- From the Delphi Diagramming Customer home page, click Editors and then Media.
- Click Add Media.
- Click Add Photos or Add Videos.
- Browse to and select as many files as needed, and click Open. To select multiple files, hold the CTRL key and click to highlight each file.
- Click Upload All to add the files to your media library.
If you decide not to upload a media file, click the X next to the file name to remove it from the list.
- Once the upload is complete, click X to close the Upload Media window.
- For each media file uploaded, enter a caption (and translated captions if necessary).
We strongly recommend that you immediately enter a caption for each photo or video after adding it. You'll only see icons for videos in the library (not a preview of the video's content), so having a good caption makes identifying your photos and videos much easier (for example, when you want to link them later). Keep the naming and formatting consistent as customers will see the captions on the website too.
- Click Save .
- From the Content Management Home page, click Editors and then Media.
- Click Add Media.
- Click Add Virtual Tour.
- Click Panoramic or Spherical. Panoramic virtual tours enable you to pan left and right. Spherical virtual tours enable you to pan in all directions: left, right, up, and down.
The larger the spherical virtual tour, the longer it will take to upload and display, especially for tablets and mobile devices. To ensure your tablet and mobile device users have a good viewing experience, our recommendation is to upload spherical virtual tours that are no more than 5 MB and 2,000-4,000 pixels wide. This is necessary due to the memory and hardware limitations of those devices.
- Click Browse and select the Virtual Tour file.
- Click Add.
- Click Upload All to add all selected files to your media library.
If you decide not to upload a media file, click X next to the file name to remove it.
- Once the upload is complete, click X to close the Upload Media window.
- For each media file uploaded, enter a caption (and translated captions if necessary).
We strongly recommend that you immediately enter a caption for each virtual tour after adding it. You'll only see icons for virtual tours in the library (not a preview of the content), so having a good caption makes identifying your virtual tours much easier (for example, when you want to link them later). Keep the naming and formatting consistent as customers will see the captions on the website too.
- Click Save .
- From the Content Management Home page, click Editors and then Media.
- Click and drag the media file to its desired position.
- Click Save .
Changes to media order are immediately displayed in your online gallery.
If your property has been using Website Edition for a while, .swf and .flv videos will no longer play because Adobe Flash player support has ended. If you try to preview an old flash file in the Media Editor, you’ll be reminded to replace it with a modern format. Videos and virtual tours in these older file types will not display to customers visiting your website.
There are multiple ways to convert .swf and .flv files to one of the supported formats. Ask your IT team to formulate a plan to convert your videos, and then replace them in the Media Editor by following the steps below. If the video appears on your area map, you'll also want to update Linked Media in the Content Editor.
-
From any property page, click your name in the upper right corner.
-
Select Manage Content.
-
Select the Media tab.
-
Select a video and then click Preview Video to check it's in working order.
-
If it's in an unsupported format, delete it, then click Add Media, Add Videos or Add Virtual Tour to upload the new version.
-
Click the new file, add the caption, and click Save.
-
Finally, click the Content tab and link the video or tour to the appropriate locations in the Content Manager.
