Charge general

Occasionally there is a long line at the front desk and you want to work as efficient as possible. Some guests at the front desk might want to buy something or some guests might want to pay off the remaining charges in their reservation. With the charge general feature you can post articles and/or payments to the in-house reservations.

To use charge general

  1. From the home page, do one of the following to open the Charge general page:
    • Press CTRL+O on your keyboard.

    • Click the front desk menu in your top bar and select Charge general

    • Click Charge general () from the in-house navigation menu.

  2. Modify the fields as appropriate.

    Post to folio details

    Room

    Select the room number from the drop-down where the charge or payment needs to be posted. Only reservations that are In House appear.

    PLU

    This is the unique numerical article code in the PMS called the Price Look Up.

    Type the articles PLU number or a keyword of an article. Select the article or payment from the drop-down selection in the article field.

    Article

    Select the article or payment from the drop-down selection.

    Description

    This displays the description of the article in the PLU field.

    Reference

    A posting reference can be added when the article is posted.

    This field is grayed out unless it is set up in the article to allow posting reference.

    Price or Balance

    This field can display two options. If the PLU code selected is a payment article, it displays the balance of the reservation that needs paid. If the PLU code selected is an article, and that article is setup with a price, it displays the price of the article.

    If price change is allowed in the article set up, you can change the price of the article.

    Quantity or Paid

    This field can display two options. the article quantity when the PLU code selected is an article to be posted to the room, when the PLU code is a payment article this field displays paid. The paid field displays what amount the guest has paid, it displays always the exact amount as the balance.

    Total or Change

    The total price is displayed when a article PLU is selected, this total price is calculated on the basis of the price and quantity of the article.

    When the PLU code is a payment article this field displays change. If the guest pays with cash for example you can enter the cash amount paid. In the change field it displays the change amount you have to give back.

    Subfolio details

    Subfolio A, B, C, or D

    Select the subfolio where the article/payment needs to be posted.

    If there is a balance, the subfolio's display the balance here as well.

  3. Click Confirm (), to post the article or payment to the selected room and subfolio.
