Map setup values to channels

Mapping channel values is the last of a three-step process. Ensure the first two steps are completed before proceeding:

  1. Subscription setup values are entered.
  2. Location setup values are entered.
  3. Values are mapped with your purchased channels.

To map setup values to a channel

  1. From the Subscription Administration Home page, click the Locations tab.
  2. Select a location, click the Settings tab, and then click Channels.
  3. Select the channel you want to work with to open the Channel Information page.
  4. Click on the Inbound or Outbound tab.
    • The Inbound tab translates the RFP values from the channel's system to your MeetingBroker values.
    • The Outbound tab translates your MeetingBroker values to the channel when business data is sent.

Each channel has a unique design—some don't consume business data at all, and some only consume the lost business reason. Mapping is only necessary for the following channels and values:

    Cendyn NotificationsNoNo
    CventYesOnly Lost Business Reason

Private CRM Channels (Connex or Central Sales) - Depends on the channel design. If you see values listed in the channel, full mapping is available in both directions.YesYes - All Values
  5. Click Auto Map. Any channel values that are an exact match with yours will map automatically.
  6. Values that were not matched during the Auto Map process will begin with "Unknown". Scroll through each list to find the unknowns, and select the best match from the drop-down list.

If you added location-specific setup values, make sure the Auto Map didn't select a subscription value that you don't use. For example, your property has "U Shaped" as an event setup type. If the subscription and the channel both have "U-Shaped" (with a hyphen), Auto Map will identify the subscription value as a match. You need to change it to your location value of U Shape so it is translated correctly, especially if you are integrated with a sales and catering system.

Sometimes leaving a value as Unknown is appropriate when there is no match between the channel and location values. For example, if a channel has an event type of Golf but your location does not offer golf, the Sales Manager should see "Unknown: Golf" when they view the RFP Recap. This is preferred to mapping to a value that does not apply.
