View contact details
The Contact page displays contact details. You can use this page to add new activities, bookings, and volume contracts to the contact.
If you are the contact owner or have Edit All Records access to the contact through your property, you can edit the contact details. Otherwise, this page is read-only.
To open the Contact page, do one of the following:
- Find the contact using the Search field at the top of any page, and then click the contact name.
- Go to the Contacts section of a record, and then click the contact name.
- Click the Contacts tab, select the appropriate view, and then click the contact name.
To help you work with your contacts, the Contact page includes several areas of detail. Select your Salesforce experience for further details.

Contact Detail | |
Name | This the full name of the contact. |
Title | This is the contact's title within their organization. |
Dear | This is the greeting that is used when writing to this person. For example, if the contact's name is Anthony Chamberlain, you might enter 'Mr. Chamberlain' in this field. |
Account Name | When you create a contact from the Account page, the name of the account displays here. You can associate the contact with a different account, if needed. Click the account to open it. |
Contact Owner | This is the owner of the contact. Click Change to assign a different owner to the contact. |
Email and Phone | |
Phone, Mobile, and Fax | These fields display the contact's phone numbers. |
This is the email address for the contact. | |
Email Opt Out | With this option selected, the contact does not receive email correspondence. |
Address Information | |
Mailing Address and Other Address | These fields display the contact's mailing address and, if applicable, a secondary address. |
Comments | |
Description | This field displays any additional information about the contact that is helpful to remember. |
The Contact page also includes the following related lists, which you can use to manage the records associated with the contact:
Related lists | |
Open Activities | This list displays outstanding tasks and events that have been created for the contact. After a task is complete or an event occurs, it displays in the Activity History section. |
Activity History | This list displays logged calls, sent emails, and other completed tasks and events associated with the contact. See Overview: Activities. |
Bookings and Bookings (Agent) | These lists display bookings associated with the contact. If the contact is acting as an agent, the booking displays in the Bookings (Agent) section. Click New to add a new booking to the contact. |
Inquiries | This list displays inquiries associated with the contact. Click New to add a new inquiry to the contact. |
Volume Contracts and Volume Contracts (Agent) | These lists display volume contracts associated with the contact. If the contact is acting as an agent, the contract displays in the Volume Contracts (Agent) section. Click New Volume Contract to associate the contact with a new contract. |
Notes & Attachments | This list displays notes and attachments associated with the contact. If you are the contact owner, you can add, edit, and delete notes and attachments. |

Activities |
The top of this section displays Upcoming & Overdue tasks and events. After a task is complete or an event occurs, it moves to the bottom section and displays by date. See Overview: Activities. |
Chatter Tab | |
Chatter | This area displays internal Chatter communication and updates about the contact. |
Related Tab | |
Notes & Attachments | This list displays notes and attachments associated with the contact. If you are the contact owner, you can add, edit, and delete notes and attachments. |
Contact History | This displays an audit trail of changes made to the contact. You can see the date of the change, who made the change, and the action taken. |
