Create room plans
After Delphi Diagramming has been integrated with your org, you'll see a View Diagram button in the Booking Events grid and on the Manage Menus and Items page. Depending on your property's configuration, you may also see the button on the Booking Event page. This button gives you access to the Delphi Diagramming application where you can create room plans for the events you're managing.
If you'd like to learn more about Delphi Diagramming, please contact your Amadeus sales representative. You must have R22 or higher installed in your org to take advantage of the integration features.
Here are a few things to keep in mind before you get started:
- Make sure pop-up blockers are disabled in your browser; otherwise, Delphi Diagramming won't open when you click View Diagram.
- Delphi Diagramming implements seven standard setup styles (Theater, Classroom, Banquet, Conference, Hollow Square, UShape, and Reception). If your property uses setups that aren't included in this list (for example, Rounds of 8), your Delphi Diagramming administrator can use the Mapping Editor to map your Delphi setups with the setups in Delphi Diagramming. The Mapping Editor can also be used to map your function rooms in the two applications. Don't worry if one of your function rooms or setups gets overlooked during the mapping process. When you create a room plan for that event, Delphi Diagramming will prompt you to select an available function room or setup and automatically create the mapping for you.
- Delphi Diagramming uses the Set attendance to create room plans. If Set isn’t entered for the event, Guaranteed is used, and then Agreed. Note that Expected attendance is never used. This gives you the flexibility to change the Expected value for accurate forecasting without affecting the room plan.
- After a room plan is created, any changes you make to the event are not reflected in Delphi Diagramming and vice versa.
- Bookings and events created as part of the integration are read-only in Delphi Diagramming.
To create a room plan
- Do one of the following to open Delphi Diagramming:
- In the booking events grid on the Booking page or Manage Events page, select the check box next to an event and click View Diagram. Alternatively, right-click the event and click View Diagram.
- On the Manage Menus and Items page, select an event in the Event picklist and then click View Diagram.
- On the Booking Event page, click View Diagram.
- With Single Sign-On integration between Delphi and Delphi Diagramming, you'll be prompted to enter your credentials the first time you access the application. However, subsequent visits will grant you direct access to Delphi Diagramming without the need for re-entering your credentials.
- In the Create Room Plan window, enter the name of the room plan and click Create Room Plan. Delphi Diagramming uses the function room and setup you selected in Delphi to create the room plan in Automatic Layout Mode.
- Add details to your room plan, as needed. For instructions on designing, managing, and printing room plans, refer to Delphi Diagramming's online help.
