Overview: Ability to purge Booking Day Snapshot records to free up data storage

The Booking Day Snapshot (BDS) purge feature is designed to help reduce data storage costs by deleting BDS records that are no longer needed for reporting purposes.

The purge deletes BDS records that are no longer necessary to meet a property's reporting needs based on the configured settings.

The feature is not enabled by default and requires an approval process to ensure that only authorized administrators can enable it. To enable it, the System or Corporate Administrator must contact Amadeus Support. Our team grants the designated corporate administrator the ability to enable and configure the purge settings by property and to set up the purge based on the booking departure date.

The purge feature has a minimum retention range of three years, ensuring that at least three years of BDS records are preserved for reporting purposes. This number defaults to five years and can be increased to meet the property's reporting needs. The purge runs by calendar year. For example , if the purge feature is enabled in 2025 and the retention period is set to five years, all BDS records for bookings that departed before January 1, 2020 are purged.

Removing the Booking Day Snapshot records from the Salesforce org does not affect the reporting database, ensuring that Delphi performance reports are not impacted.

This feature helps manage storage costs while ensuring that necessary data is retained for reporting needs.
