Associate revenue classifications to tax groups
The content of this page is specific to the Delphi product type only. If you are using the Delphi Core product type and want to learn more about the Delphi product type, contact your sales representative.
The information in this topic applies to the tax function with version R20 and lower. To learn about the enhanced taxes feature available with version R21 and higher, refer to Overview: Enhanced taxes.
After you create a tax group and add the appropriate taxes to the group, you need to associate one or more revenue classifications with each tax. This automatically applies the tax to the appropriate menus, items, and function room rental fees. When the tax applies to service charges, the revenue classification controls the default gratuity and administrative charge percentages to be used in tax calculations.
Changes can only be made to a tax group on the Property page. Users cannot modify taxes when they create a booking event.
To associate revenue classifications with a tax group
- In the Tax Groups section of the Property page, click the tax group name.
- In the Taxes section, click the first tax in the tax group.
- In the Revenue Classifications section, click New Tax Group Revenue Classification.
- Next to the Revenue Classification field, find and select a revenue classification related to the tax. For example, for a Food and Beverage tax, you would first select the Food revenue classification. This ensures that the tax applies to any menus or items with a Food revenue classification. You can then also assign the Beverage revenue classification to the tax.
- Do one of the following:
- Click Save to save your changes.
- Click Save & New to save your changes and assign another revenue classification to the tax.
- Click Cancel to discard your changes.
