Diagramming announcement: deadline for moving to new 3D

3D Diagramming. Get ready to take your diagrams to another level! 3D Diagramming went through a makeover in July, giving you the gift of enhanced imagery and new controls for a more immersive experience. With the new functionality in place, this announcement serves as notice that we will be decommissioning the classic 3D in 2024.

If you have not done so already, now is the time to enable and start utilizing this upgraded feature at your property. To make the most of this new 3D experience, it is essential to ensure that your property is set up for success. Regardless of whether you have used 3D in the past, or if you are new to it, we have created a new help topic to get you started. Jump over to the Enabling 3D page for more information.

Redesigned canvas for room planning. We are pleased to introduce a redesigned appearance for our room planning canvas. While the functionality remains the same, we have modernized it and updated our icons to better align them with the look and feel of our overall product. Rest assured, with this update, there is no need to learn a new process and no changes to the steps you take today to create room plans. The biggest change you will notice is the improved visual design of the page. Feel free to explore the newly designed canvas while you are bringing your clients' room plan ideas to life.

Customize resource’s 3D models for individual room plans. (CR0134860) In the field of room planning and design, customization plays a vital role in creating spaces that truly reflect personal tastes and preferences. Up until now, a default 3D appearance was applied to all resources within room plans. However, what if you have a client who wants a distinctive chair cover, specific lighting, or a particular furniture color? That hasn’t been possible – until now. Users now have the ability to personalize the 3D models of resources within their unique room plans. This innovative feature empowers both clients and event planners to infuse each room with distinct characteristics, ensuring that even the smallest details are vividly represented in the 3D tour. It converts the 3D modeling experience from a uniform template into a canvas for creativity, allowing clients to bring their individual concepts to life.

Fixed Issues:

CR0137364: When dimension lines are linked to a single point and grouped, extra lines no longer appear on both PDFs and printed copies of the room plans.

CR0137563: Filtering booking events by date results in the display of events exclusively for the selected date.

Redesigned 3D. (CR0136368) We are excited to reveal our newly revamped 3D appearance! The new look starts with upgraded resource and room plan 3D imagery. Your clients will be dazzled by the crisp, clean, and lifelike appearance of the diagrams you present to them. Administrators can establish favorite colors and textures for your properties resources and rooms, or they can upload additional 3D images to give diagrams a more personal touch. With built in object elevation settings, you can make sure any equipment added to a room plan is placed realistically in the space. Updated controls in the new 3D experience make it a breeze for users and event planners to do a walk through of the event space. Keyboard shortcuts are provided to help users navigate confidently around the diagram. For more information on the revamp, review the details available on the What's New page.

Administrators

Separate User Management access for administrators. (CR0136747) We understand the importance of user management in maintaining a secure and organized system. With this update, administrators can now choose who can have access to user management functionality. This gives you more control and flexibility in managing your users effectively. In line with this, if the User Management option is cleared, users are no longer required to use MFA.

Helpful hints when positioning resources on diagrams. (CR0122194, CR0130720) We've introduced a new danger zone alert so you can be sure that your diagram is perfect before you share it with your customer. If a resource crosses a boundary or is placed on top of another that appears impractical, you'll see them highlight. For example, if you place a chair too close to a door opening, or something wild by accident like balancing a red carpet on top of a pillar, the system will alert you. Don't worry, you'll still be able to place things where you need them, the alert is simply a friendly spot-check. To turn off the notification click View, and then clear the Placement Alert check box.

Fixed Issues:

CR0136902: Administrators can easily update phone numbers including country codes right on the edit user screen.

CR0137028: If your property has Delphi integration, even your Read Only users can easily access the diagrams from Delphi itself.

CR0136866: The Event End Date remains intact, even though the start and end times of an event may change upon creation.

Redesigned user management. Straight off the press! The Manage Users page has been completely overhauled. Managing your users used to mean a lot of clicking around, and it was challenging to find a user's account without knowing the property name. Well, not anymore! We now have a new look and a simplified design where the properties are listed in the user's account. It's now faster than ever for administrators to navigate the user list and take the necessary actions.

Improved password management. (CR0136064 and CR0136120) You asked. We delivered. The password management functionalities have been taken to a new level.

Delphi integrated properties can opt to create a booking in Delphi Diagramming. Are you a Delphi integrated property? Do you wish to have the flexibility to create bookings and events directly in Delphi Diagramming? Then this feature is for you. Once the administrators toggle the ‘Allow Booking Creation’ check box on the Options page, you will be able to create bookings independent of Delphi.

Automatic reception capacity calculation for new meeting spaces. Last year we excited you with the full power over editing and optimizing your event spaces. Now we are bringing you the auto-calculation for your reception style capacities. Yes, you read that right. There is no longer a need for you to manually enter the reception capacity – the system will do it for you.

Duplicate a room plan straight from the event. (CR0130470) Exciting news! You can duplicate a room plan with just a click of a button straight from the event line. The system will keep the function room, setup style and all the resources. All you need to do is adjust it to the new client’s specifications.
