Standardize setup value mapping for all locations

Subscription administrators can define how subscription setup values are mapped to each channel, and apply that mapping to all of the locations within the subscription. This works well in subscriptions that have a defined set of corporate values that are shared and used the same way at each location. This is also recommended if you are starting a brand new subscription.

If you are in a subscription that has been active for a while, and the location setup values are not mandated to match a corporate list, you may not want to use this tool because it will overwrite the current mapping that the location administrators have already completed.

Before using this tool, ensure you have a full understanding of MeetingBroker's setup values by reading this overview.

Each channel has a unique design—some don't consume business data at all, and some only consume the lost business reason. Mapping is only necessary for the following channels and values:

Channel Name Inbound Outbound
Cendyn eProposal No No
Cendyn Notifications No No
Cvent Yes Only Lost Business Reason
Groups360 Yes Only Lost Business Reason
SpeedRFP Yes Only Lost Business Reason
SignUp4 Yes Only Lost Business Reason
Venue Directory Yes Only Lost Business Reason
1000Meetings Yes Only Lost Business Reason
Your Local Convention & Visitor's Bureau Yes Only Lost Business Reason
Private CRM Channels (Connex or Central Sales) - Depends on the channel design. If you see values listed in the channel, full mapping is available in both directions. Yes Yes - All Values

To create a mapping template

  1. From the Subscription Administration Home page, click the Setup tab and then click Channel Mapping.
  2. Click the channel you want to work with to open the Channel Mapping window.
  3. Click the Auto Map button. If any of the channel’s values match your subscription values exactly, they will map automatically. Wait until you see the yellow message at the top of the window stating that auto mapping is complete.
  4. Review the Subscription Value column in each list. Values that were not matched during the Auto Map process will begin with "Unknown". Select the best match for the unknown values from the drop-down list in the Subscription Value column.

Sometimes leaving a value as "Unknown" is better than mapping it if none of your values are similar to the channel's value. For example, if a channel has an event type of Golf but you do not offer golf, the Property Sales Manager should see "unknown: Golf" in the RFP recap so they can discuss the event with the planner rather than mapping the event type to something that does not apply.

  1. Click Save.
  2. Click Apply.

The following message is displayed: "This setup value mapping template will be applied to all locations".

Applying your changes overwrites the current mappings for this channel at all locations. The location's custom setup values are retained, but the mappings are overwritten.

  3. Click OK to continue.

  4. Repeat for the Outbound tab if necessary.
  5. Repeat for all channels that you will use in your subscription.
