Overview: Account sharing
When your Salesforce org was created, your company decided on the security of accounts and contacts. Accounts can be automatically shared with all users across properties, which is known as 'public read/write' access. With this access, anyone can view, edit, and report on any account.
Accounts can also be made private. When an account is private, only the account owner can view, edit, and report on it unless the account is shared with other properties. The following methods describe the different ways accounts can be shared. Before you complete one of the below sharing methods, you need to enable Amadeus Account Security in the Amadeus Settings page.
If you want to change your account security model, contact Amadeus Support before you modify these org settings.
Sharing method |
Action required |
Action performed by |
---|---|---|
Share accounts with all properties in the org | Select the Visible to All Properties checkbox on the Account page. | Account owner |
Share accounts with designated properties | In the Account Properties section of the Account page, click Grant Property Access. | Property administrator |
Share accounts with the account owner's default property | On the Enable Property-Level Security page, under Amadeus Settings, select the Automatically Assign Default Property on Account checkbox. | Corporate administrator |
Your access to an account is controlled by the following:
- If the account is shared with the Grant Property Access button, your access level at the property controls what you can do with the account. All users assigned to the property can view and report on the account, but need to have Edit All Records permissions to edit the details.
- If the account is shared with the Visible to All Properties checkbox, all users have edit access to the account.
These settings apply only to properties using Delphi. If you have Delphi Select properties in your org, their accounts are automatically set to public read/write. Learn more.
