Enter inclusive prices in Setup

Administrators enter your property's inclusive prices in the following areas of Setup: menus and items, menu revenue breakdowns, menu items, choice group items, function room rental, other income, and packages. If needed, users can modify these prices in the application. As they are updated, we adjust the exclusive price accordingly based on the new inclusive price that is entered. Likewise, if users modify the exclusive price, we will re-calculate and display a new inclusive price for that event.

As you're working with each record, make sure the Inclusive check box is selected to indicate that the price you entered is inclusive of tax. If you also want to indicate that the price includes an admin charge and/or gratuity, you'll also need to select the Include Admin Charge in Inclusive Price and Include Gratuity in Inclusive Price check boxes on the appropriate revenue classifications.

The following table describes each of these check boxes and indicates where they are located in Setup.

Inclusive pricing field Description Location
Inclusive When the Inclusive check box is selected, we treat the unit price that is entered as inclusive of tax and do the following in the application:
  • Display that unit price in the Inclusive field.
  • Calculate the Exclusive price by deducting any applicable taxes.

When this check box is cleared, we treat the unit price as exclusive of tax and do the following in the application:

  • Display that unit price in the Exclusive field.
  • Calculate the Inclusive price by adding any applicable taxes.
  • Menus and items
  • Choice group items
  • Menu items
  • Menu revenue breakdowns
  • Function rooms
  • Other income items
  • Packages
Include Admin Charge in Inclusive Price If you want the inclusive price of your menus and items to include the admin charge, select the Include Admin Charge in Inclusive Price check box on each applicable revenue classification.

When users open a menu or item in the Editing Item Details window, the Incl. check box will be selected next to the Admin Charge field (these fields are displayed on the Revenue Breakdown tab for menus). Users can always clear this check box if they don't want to include admin in the price they're quoting, and we will update the Inclusive Price field accordingly.

Include Gratuity in Inclusive Price If you want the inclusive price of your menus and items to include gratuity, select the Include Gratuity in Inclusive Price check box on each applicable revenue classification.

If they don't want to include admin in the inclusive price they're quoting to a customer, they can clear the this check box and we will adjust the Inclusive Price field accordingly.
