New integration to Delphi
If you've been using Delphi Diagramming for a while and you recently purchased the integration to Delphi, you probably have bookings in both systems. Now it's time to connect the dots so that when you click View Diagram in Delphi, the associated room plan opens. There is a little manual work involved to link your existing room plans in Delphi Diagramming to the booking events in Delphi. Prioritize the upcoming events first, then work your way further into the future. You don't need to worry about linking all the historical room plans, you'll still have access to them in Delphi Diagramming if you want to use them again in the future. When you're ready to create or modify diagrams for new bookings in Delphi, refer to these steps.
When the systems are connected, the names of your meeting spaces and setup styles need to marry up in both systems. This ensures that when you create a new event in Delphi, the correct room and setup styles apply to the event in Delphi Diagramming for automatic layout. This will save your users from having to perform manual mapping steps later.
To access the Mapping Editor, click your name in the upper-right corner of the Delphi Diagramming home page and then click Manage Mappings. In the upper-left corner of the page, select Rooms to map your meeting spaces, or Room Setup to map your seating styles.
- If you have access to multiple properties, select the one you want to work with by clicking the drop-down arrow next to the property name at the top of the page.
- Click Auto map. This compares both systems and connects matching values. If all values in the Rooms and Room Setup pages have a match, you are now finished.
- Manually resolve any differences between function rooms:
- In the upper-left corner the page, confirm that Rooms is selected.
- Click the Delphi Room Name that requires mapping.
- In the Diagram Room Name drop-down list, select the corresponding function room in Delphi Diagramming.
- Click Save Changes.
- Manually resolve any differences between setup styles:
- In the upper-left corner the page, select Room Setups.
- Click the Delphi Room Setup that requires mapping.
- In the Room Setup drop-down list, select the corresponding setup style in Delphi Diagramming.
- Click Save Changes.
You can assign multiple function room setups from Delphi to a single Delphi Diagramming setup style. For example, you can map Rounds of 8 and Rounds of 10 to Banquet.
- Send the Delphi booking to Delphi Diagramming. In Delphi do one of the following:
- In the Booking Events grid, select the check box next to an event and then click the View Diagram button. Alternatively, right-click the event and click View Diagram.
- On the Manage Menus and Items page, select an event in the Events pick list and then click the View Diagram button. .
- On the Booking Event page, click the View Diagram button.
This step creates the Delphi booking and event and Delphi Diagramming. If you already had a booking in Delphi Diagramming created prior to the integration, you'll now have a duplicate which can be deleted later once you've completed the steps below.
- Log in to Delphi Diagramming with your username and password.
- In the Create Room Plan window, click Cancel.
- Using the breadcrumb links at the top of the page, navigate to the original booking and event whose room plan you want to copy.
- Click the room plan to open it and then click Save As .
- Enter a name for the room plan.
- Click the Change link and select the new booking and event that was created by Delphi.
- Click Save.
Repeat the steps for all events and room plans on the booking. To keep things tidy, you can delete the original booking that is not linked to Delphi.
