Viewpoints
Before you share a 3D rendering of the diagram with your client, you can add viewpoints. These viewpoints are used to set predetermined room vantage points. Viewpoints can have custom names and sort orders to help your client visualize the space from any direction. For example, if you want your client to see how the stage looks from the back row, or the bride and groom's view of the dance floor, you can use viewpoints.
You can add viewpoints in a variety of positions and angles.
To add viewpoints
-
Open a diagram.
-
On the drawing canvas, click the Tools menu.
-
Select the Viewpoint Tool (
) and then click in the diagram where you want to place it.
-
Select the new viewpoint and click Settings (
). The Set 3D Viewpoint Position window displays.
-
Enter the following details:
Name
The name of the viewpoint is visible to your client and is used to describe the view.
Sort Order
Enter the order in which the viewpoint needs to display. The viewpoint with the lowest number displays first. This is helpful when you want your client to virtually tour the meeting space in a specific order.
Angle
To rotate the view to a precise angle, enter the number of degrees between 0 and 359. You can also reposition and rotate the viewpoint on the Drawing Canvas. The binoculars icon (
) indicates the viewing direction as if your client is viewing the meeting space through the binoculars. Position the front of the binoculars in the appropriate direction.
Field of View angle (degrees)
This is the width of the view, and defaults to 45 degrees. You can enter the number of degrees between 0 and 90. A wider angle captures more of the peripheral view.
Target Distance
Enter the distance between the viewpoint and the scene you want to capture. For example, if your viewpoint is from the back of the room pointing at a stage, enter the distance between the back of the room to the stage.
The result of this setting works with the value entered for Target Height.
Viewer Height
This is the position of the viewer and defaults to Standing. You can also select Ceiling, Sitting, or on the Floor. To capture the view from a different height, select Custom and enter the specific height.
Target Height
This is the position of the subject the viewer is looking at and defaults to Standing. You can also select Ceiling, Sitting, or on the Floor. For example, to show the view for a seated guest looking up at the presenter, select Sitting for the Viewer Height, and Standing for the Target Height. To set the view at a different height, select Custom and enter the specific height.
The result of this setting works with the value entered for Target Distance.
-
Repeat steps 3-5 to add more viewpoints.
-
Click View 3D (
) to preview the rendering. The added viewpoints display (
) in the rendering and indicate position only, and not direction. If necessary, click Hide Viewpoints (
) to remove these icons from the rendering.
-
In the bottom left corner, click the arrows to move through the viewpoints, or select one from the drop-down list.
