3D Diagramming
Every event should tell a story. Since 2016, Delphi Diagramming has offered you the ability to create highly detailed room plans that help your clients visualize what their meeting, social gathering or wedding will look like in your space. By presenting a 3D walk through of event space, meeting planners can see if seats have an obstructed view of podiums. Brides and their wedding planners can get a clear picture of how guests will navigate between bars, tables and dance floors during a wedding reception. These details go a long way to ensuring the clients requirements are captured and delivered when the big day comes around.
As times have changed, so has the technology behind 3D graphics. In keeping up with the times, we are thrilled to announce some improvements in our Delphi Diagramming 3D experience.
As part of this release, we have upgraded imagery, allowing you to dazzle your clients with crisp and clean resources and room plans, improving the lifelike preview you share with them. Administrators can continue to set favorite colors and textures for resources and rooms, or upload additional 3D images to give diagrams a more personal touch. Object elevation settings allow you to make sure resources are placed realistically in rooms.
Updated controls in the new 3D preview experience make it a breeze for users and event planners to do a walk through of the event space. Keyboard shortcuts are provided to help users navigate confidently around the diagram.
To benefit from everything this updated feature has to offer, take a moment to review the following topics for more information on how to set your property up for success.
If you are looking to take advantage of the new 3D experience, take the following steps to get this feature.
- Click your name in the upper-right corner of the page, and click Manage Options.
- Check to make sure that Enable 3D functionality is turned on.
- To optimize how your users will work with 3D, spend time establishing your property's 3D settings. Review the default 3D graphics we provide, or upload some of your own - make sure you have what you need to put your best foot forward. Use the links provided for more information on how you can do this.
- Define colors or textures for chairs, tables, and other equipment or amenities placed in the room - Manage resource.
- Add wall and floor textures, ceiling styles, and outdoor views that are applied to all of your property's rooms - Configure options.
- For rooms that need something special, establish unique 3D setting for individual space - Capacity editor.
- Once these steps have been completed, return to Manage Options and select both Enable 3D Sharing and Use new 3D for Sharing. This is to ensure your clients get to benefit from the new experience.
If your property is already sending clients 3D diagrams, you may have customized some settings to give your rooms a lifelike appearance. With the new 3D experience, these customization are not automatically applied to your resources or rooms. To ensure the experience is ready for your users and clients, Administrators must take time to reestablish these settings. To assist with this, we have provided additional Help content to navigate you through this. Visit the pages outlined below to learn the steps to seamlessly transition.
- Editing a resource - this page provides instructions to update the resources you place on a room diagram (for example, chair colors or table textures) to the new experience.
- Configure options - this page provides instructions to transition the settings of previously customized wall or floor coverings, ceiling styles, or outdoor views to the new experience.
When you are ready for clients to benefit from the new 3D experience, sharing must be turned on.
- Click your name in the upper-right corner of the page, and click Manage Options.
- Activate sharing via the Use new 3D for Sharing field.
It is important to note that the current day 3D technology will be retired at a future date. For a limited time, you have the ability to see your current day customization in order to replicate these in the new experience. We strongly recommend Administrators take the time to make the transition at your earliest convenience. The date this feature will be retired will be announced in future product release notes - stay tuned for more information.

Administrators
We understand the importance of user management in maintaining a secure and organized system. With this update, administrators can now choose who can have access to user management functionalities. This gives you more control and flexibility in managing your users effectively. In line with this, if the User Management option is cleared, users are no longer required to use MFA.
Users
We've introduced a new danger zone alert so you can be sure that your diagram is perfect before you share it with your customer. If a resource crosses a boundary or is placed on top of another that appears impractical, you'll see them highlight. For example, if you place a chair too close to a door opening, or something wild by accident like balancing a red carpet on top of a pillar, the system will alert you. Don't worry, you'll still be able to place things where you need them, the alert is simply a friendly spot-check. To turn off the notification click View, and then clear the Placement Alert check box.
