Overview: Guestrooms
The content of this page is specific to the Delphi product type only. If you are using the Delphi Core product type and want to learn more about the Delphi product type, contact your sales representative.
As of version R49, two user experiences are available for entering and managing room blocks. The details on this page refer to the classic guestroom management experience. For information on the new guestroom experience, see Room Block Details for the new Guestroom experience.
To block guestrooms for a booking, you can use the Room Block Details window to enter room count and rate information for each day.
To open the Room Block Details window, do one of the following:
- In the Guestrooms section of the Booking page, click Details.
- Click Manage Guestrooms on the Booking page.
- In the Guestroom Bookings section of the Availability page, click Room Block Detail and double-click the appropriate room block.
Booking information
The top section of the Room Block Details page displays the booking name, dates, and the room block's property and status. If the property is integrated with a property management system (PMS), the PMS Group ID displays. If a room block is created from a package, the name of the booking package also displays.
If you have multiple room blocks on a booking, you can use the list to select a different room block. If you are working with a cross-property booking, the Room Block Property changes to reflect the selected room block.
The View History button opens the Room Block Detail page. You can then view additional information about the room block, including average rate, peak rooms, and total roomnights. This information also displays in the Guestrooms section of the Booking page.

Room types
The lower half of the page displays information about the different room types added to the room block.
-
The room block's date range defaults to the same as the booking's arrival and departure dates. You can adjust this date range as needed using the Modify Room Block button.
-
The Run of House room type displays by default. A separate grid displays for each room type you add to a block.
-
The Group Available row at the top of each room type grid displays the number of rooms of that type available for group business. This value is calculated using the following formula: (Room Type Quantity - (Group Definite + Group Tentative) - Transient Protected). This number is adjusted as room nights are entered into the Blocked row.
-
Each room type that you add to a room block displays the following booking information:
-
Agreed - This is the number of contracted rooms.
-
Forecasted - This is the number of guestrooms you expect to be used.
-
Blocked - This is the number of guestrooms you are taking out of inventory. If you have a PMS integration, this row is updated as reservations are made.
-
Picked Up - After a group departs, you can enter the number of picked up rooms and the pickup rate for each room block here. However, using the Enter Pickup tab to enter pickup for the entire booking might be easier.
If your property is integrated with a PMS, you might not need to enter pickup. For more information, contact your administrator.
-
- As you enter guestroom numbers and rates for each of the booking's room blocks, the information displays in the Guestroom Block Totals grid and the Guestroom section of the Booking page.
- As you make changes, red triangles indicate unsaved values and disappear after you click Save.
Keyboard shortcuts
To help you add attendance, if enabled, the following keyboard shortcuts are available for the Agreed, Forecasted, and Blocked rows:
- CTRL+B - This copies the rooms and rates from a selected room type and day to the rest of the pattern.
- CTRL+SHIFT+B - This copies the selected row, for example, Blocked, to the rest of the pattern.
- CTRL+S - This saves changes.
These shortcuts do not apply to the Picked Up row.
Values are copied to the selected room type only, and you can only copy forward in a pattern. Existing values are not overwritten.
Additional information
- To block a guestroom type in multiple occupancies, enter a slash between each occupancy level (S/D/T/Q). For example, entering 5/10/15/2 blocks 5 single occupancy, 10 double occupancy, 15 triple occupancy, and 2 quad occupancy rooms.
- To ensure the correct occupancy is blocked for each room type, enter '0' whenever an occupancy is not needed, for example, 0/10/0/2.
- When you block in multiple occupancies, you also need to enter the rate for each occupancy using the same format, for example, 109.00/129.00/149.00/169.00.
