Change the room block status
The content of this page is specific to the Delphi product type only. If you are using the Delphi Core product type and want to learn more about the Delphi product type, contact your sales representative.
Each room block on a booking can have its own status. For example, a booking's primary room block might be definite, but an overflow room block at an alternate property might be tentative. Or, one of the booking's room blocks might need to be cancelled while the others continue to be definite.
When you create a room block, its status defaults to the booking status until you change it. You can change a room block's status using the Status field in the New Room Block window or the Modify Room Block window. Then, the room block maintains its own status independent of the booking. However, if the booking is changed to cancelled, turned down, or lost, the status of all its room blocks automatically update to the corresponding status. Also, you cannot downgrade the status of a room block. For example, you cannot change the status from definite to tentative.
When properties with an external availability integration change the room block status to tentative or definite, a warning message might display. This can happen when the room block numbers exceed the available inventory.
Your property configuration controls whether users can manually change the room block status. If your administrator has selected the Enable Room Block Status option on the Property page, you can update the room block status as needed. If this option is not selected, the Status field is view-only and the room block status always reflects the current status of the booking.
The Enable Room Block Status option needs to be selected for properties integrated with the Opera property management system.
