Overview: Menus and items

The content of this page is specific to the Delphi product type only. If you are using the Delphi Core product type and want to learn more about the Delphi product type, contact your sales representative.

The following types of menus and items can be created in Setup:

• Item - This is sold individually, on consumption, or as part of a detailed menu as a menu item or choice group item.
• Simple menu - This does not include any choice groups or items sold on consumption. A simple menu is detailed using the Rich Description field.
• Detailed menu - This can include choice groups or items sold on consumption. A detailed menu can be used to create a host or cash bar menu.
• Text item - This is used to add notes and instructions to BEOs.

Menus and items can be created at the corporate or property level. Corporate values do not display on the Property page, but you can manage all menus and items on the Items Home page.

Some booking events might require a menu or item that does not exist in the system. The Create New button () in the Manage Menus and Items page can be used to create custom menus and items. Choice groups, however, can only be created by an administrator.
