Add events to packages

A package can include one or more default events. When users add the package to a booking, they can choose to create all the events on the package or only those requested by their group. Users also have the option to associate other events to the package.

You can assign default menus and items to certain event classifications. For example, if you have a standard Breakfast Buffet menu, you can add that menu to the Breakfast event classification. When the breakfast is created on a booking as part of a package, the Breakfast Buffet menu is automatically added and the Included in Package checkbox is selected. To add an event to a package

  1. Open the package, navigate to the Package Events section, and then click New. The New Package Event page displays.
  2. Select the Event Classification.

    An event classification can only be used once per package. After you create an event with a particular classification, that classification is no longer available for any other events you add to the template.

  3. Select the Event Create Day designation: Day Of or Next Day. This specifies the start date of the package event and is based on the booking's arrival date.

    For example, if you want the dinner on a package to be created on the group's arrival date, you would select Day Of for the Event Create Day. However, you would select Next Day for a breakfast, as it would occur the day after the group's arrival. For more information, see Understand how package events are created on a booking.

  4. Select Apply Package Attendance to base the event attendance on the total package attendance. If all package attendees are not attending the event, clear this checkbox. Then, the total package attendance does not default when users create this event on a booking. See Manage non-package attendance on events.
  5. Do one of the following:
    • Click Save to save your changes and return to the Package page.
    • Click Save and New to add a new event to the package.
    • Click Cancel to discard your changes.

After you add an event to the package, you need to assign a revenue breakdown to the event.
