View task details
You can view information about a task by opening the task from the associated record or from the task list on your Home page.
With the Salesforce Lightning experience, the Open Activities and Activity History sections of a record are combined into one Activity timeline. With this change, Open Activities is now called Upcoming & Overdue, and Activity History displays by date. The steps below might vary based on the experience you are using.
To view task details
Do one of the following to view the task details.
- On the Home page in the task section, click the task. The Task Details page displays.
- On the associated record, select the Activity section, and then select the task. The Task Details page displays.

Task Information | |
Assigned To | This is the owner of the task. |
Subject | This is a brief but detailed description of the task. |
Type | This is the type of task, for example, Call, Meeting, or Other. Tasks created from RFP notifications sent from MeetingBroker are assigned a default type. The value is designated on the Property page by your administrator. |
Due Date | This is the date when the task needs to be completed. When a task is overdue, the due date displays in red on the task list. |
Date Completed |
This is the date of task completion, if applicable. |
Related To | If the task is related to a particular record, that record displays here. The task displays on that record's Open Activities section. If the task is not related to a record, this field is blank. |
Name |
This is the name of the contact associated with the task. The task is also added to the Open Activities section of the contact record. |
Create Recurring Series of Tasks |
When this option is selected, the task is repeated in a series and additional details display that include the frequency and start and end dates. |
Reminder or Reminder Set |
This is the day and time the owner is reminded of the upcoming task. See Respond to activity reminders. |
Additional Information | |
Status | This is the current status of the task. Examples include Not Started, In Progress, and Completed. |
Priority | This is the urgency of the task. |
System Information | |
Created By | This is the name of the user that added the task. |
Last Modified By | This is the name of the user that edited the task. |
